I love to see the bright and shining lights of our Chapel in the woods. Although there are days when the welcome skies are gray with anticipating rain or snow at this time of the year, the lights shining from our little Chapel continue to remind me that there is goodness in the Realm of Hope despite all rumors to the contrary.
HOPE - A place of the heart or an actual reality which sustains us in times of despair or change. LOVE also seems to magnify its efforts at this time in space - especially caring in the holiday season. Although there are things we cannot change such as the loss of a spouse, or the need to move to new quarters despite our efforts to stay put - we can change how we value these situations. God has placed within us the ability to decide at many levels. We can choose to do this, but sometimes the way seems to be impossibly long.
If in your heart of hearts, you believe in Christmas despite all challenges which face you, you will find Christmas - in your heart - and from that space you will define YOUR OWN reality. Mercy has called us forth to declare openly the potential of a life worth leading. How else can we provide for the new world which is opening all around us?
Yes, there are the grinches who provide a negative outlook for reasons known only to them. Yes, there are those who pretend to ignore Christmas and go out of their way to do so, and then there are those who help to magnify the original intent - to celebrate not only the birth of Christ Jesus, but also the birth of wonder in their own lives and the lives they touch by the manifesting joy in their own lives.
May you continue to be blessed by this season of wonder, and may everything you desire to become reflect upon the promises of One Life in Christ. Merry Christmas, and a bright and blessed new year to each and every one of you. It is my constant prayer that you will be refined by the sights and sounds of Christmas and the powerful reflections of hope which surround its very name.
In peace, Carol Elaine Deys
