The Newark Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 1:15 p.m. on April 7th, 2017 at Park Presbyterian Church, 110 Maple Court, Newark.
Master Gardener, Lynda Parmelee will speak on tulips. Her engaging talk and visual presentation will present the story of how the tulip originally came to be associated with Holland, as it is not a native plant. For a few decades, in the late 1500 to 1600's, tulip bulbs were worth more than their weight in gold!
Hostesses for the day will be Betty Van Auken and Anne Crowley. Shirley Turner will provide the floral arrangement. President Shirley Stowell will lead the business meeting which follows the program and refreshments.
The Newark Garden Club is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State. As always, our programs are open to the public and our Club welcomes new members.
