It’s time again for author Richard Camp to make his annual trek to Wolcott, and the Wolcott Historical Society has booked him to talk about the Vietnam War. The name of the book is Death in the Imperial City. The book is about the US Marines in the battle for Hue from January 31 to March 2, 1968.
Come and join us on October 27 at the Carriage House Museum at 5994 Jefferson Street, Wolcott. The program starts at 1:00 and usually last for 2 hours. There will be time for questions and refreshments. For further information phone 315-594-9361 to speak to Wolcott Historian Norma Stewart.
The Marine Corp History Division put the word out about the 50th anniversary of Vietnam. Dick followed up by writing five of the monographs. Dick graduated with the Class of 1958 from Leavenworth Central School, went to college to become an English teacher; and when the U.S. became involved in the Vietnam War, Dick joined the Marine Corp. He is an entertaining speaker and well versed in the subject.
