It wouldn't be Spring without it! Fresh strawberries and good music
25th Strawberry Social, Saturday, June 22nd
Believe it or not, the Strawberry Social is celebrating its silver anniversary this year. Good food and friendly people keep this event going year after year.
This year’s Social is on June 22nd from Noon to 3 PM at the Museum on High St. We always use local strawberries and homemade shortcakes so you know it will be good! Tables are set in the shade so that you can enjoy your strawberries, shortcake and ice cream with your friends and neighbors. We can also fill a take-out tray for you. All for only $5.00 ($3.00 for children under 12). All profits help to support the Historical Society. Tickets are available at the Museum from 1 to 3 on Saturdays, but you can also just pay at the event. As an added incentive, this year we will be handing out one “strawberry buck”, good toward strawberry shortcake purchases, with every N-AHS Chicken Barbecue ticket you buy. The barbecue will be held on July 21st.
While you are here, take in the freshly installed Current Exhibit in the museum, along with the always fascinating permanent exhibits. The artifacts and exhibits breathe life into our area’s history. In addition, The Loose Marbles will be performing. Comprised of Marbletones’ members Fred Burgess and Jim Shear, they will entertain with acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies. There’s no charge to take in either the museum or the music.
This is a rain-or-shine event. We move inside if bad weather arrives. But we are looking for good weather and for you, our good members, to come and enjoy the festivities with us. Hope to see you then.
